Vaibhav Suryavanshi: "My Dream Has Come True" After Series Award
Young Indian batter Vaibhav Suryavanshi has made history. After an outstanding T20 series against Zimbabwe, he became the youngest player in Indian cricket history to win both the Player of the Match and Player of the Series awards.
Suryavanshi scored two half-centuries in the series. Soon after, he sat down for an interview with the BCCI to talk about his innings and what the awards mean to him.
"My Dream Has Come True"
Speaking about winning his first Player of the Match and Player of the Series awards in international cricket, Suryavanshi said it was a moment of real joy for him.
"My dream has come true," he said, adding that self-belief was what allowed him to play these innings.
His main goal, he explained, is simple: give the team a good start. If he gets that start, he tries to turn it into a big innings.
Crediting the Team's Preparation
Suryavanshi also spoke about the buildup to the series after the team arrived in Harare. He said the two to three days of preparation there went very well.
This wasn't his first time playing in Harare — he had also played there during the Under-19 World Cup. He said the captain, coaches, and teammates all showed faith in him, and that their support meant a great deal.
Why This Matters
Two half-centuries and two individual awards in one series is a strong result for any player — but doing it as the youngest to ever achieve it in Indian cricket adds real weight to Suryavanshi's performance. It's an early marker in what looks like a promising start to his international career.
